Thank you for sharing your journey and creating resources to help others navigate similar experiences. Second treatments can bring a mix of emotions and questions, and documenting your path through writing and podcasting shows incredible strength while potentially helping fellow patients find comfort in shared experiences. The community appreciates when members share their stories, and many here understand the value of processing this journey through creative expression.

Hi Carls, Welcome to the club! Although it’s not the best club! Can you please tell us a little bit more about yourself here? Not everyone will open that link, but we would love to know more about you and your kind of cancer and stage of cancer and how you realise you had it and what you’re doing right now to help it! Thank you in advance

Hi Nadia, I’m 66, never been sick a day in my life. The only time I’ve been to the hospital was to visit sick friends or family. I have been lucky traveling the globe as a documentary filmmaker, I am semi retired 2 years ago. I have resectacle pancreatic cancer, a 3mm tumor in the head of the pancreas, discovered in April, it hasn’t spread to other organs. The tumor biopsy showed it to be slow growing, my dna doesn’t say I’m prone to cancer. So im thinking i caught it somehow. In the modern world of pancreatic cancer there are no stages, it’s either operable or non. But based on the old method mine would be 1b. I realized something was wrong when I became jaundice, out of nowhere. As far as what I’m doing to help myself, I’m trying to stay aware of my treatment, tests and progress using many sources. As for diet, I’m staying away from fatty foods and refined sugar, and staying active by exercising and also maintaining a normal routine. The first couple days after chemotherapy have been a little difficult but no more than a 24’hour flu. But so far so good, my writing and creative process I’m excited to use to help others, and help as a journal for myself so I hope this answers your questions, thanks for asking and keep positive

Hi Carls, Thank you for letting us know Of your story. I am 60 years old and found out that I have pancreatic cancer somehow like yours on the head of the pancreas. The size of the tumour is 3.5 cm. I found out on March 13 and I have already done three chemos. Luckily, I haven’t felt nauseous for any of them, but I’ve experienced some neuropathy and fatigue. They told me I am a stage two A, based on the size of the tumor and the size seems to be shrinking after 3 chemos! They also told me that my cancer is respectable since it has not spread to any other parts. I’m not sure if mine is slow growing or fast growing there’s nothing we can do about keeping our hopes high! I’m a psychologist and I have stayed positive since I heard the news. I hope everyone can do the same. Michael after hopefully surviving this cancer will be too help others who first hear about this terrible news. I hope you’re doing well and I’m sure you will and I pray and wish all the best for everyone struggling with this mean cancer. Thanks for sharing your story and I believe it helps others to know about other people’s stories and symptoms and side effects. I’d love to network everyone for the purpose of learning from each other and helping each other. I look forward to hearing from everyone :)

in 3-23-23 I was told I had stage 3 Pancreatic cancer also at the head of the pancreas, what brought this on was that my gallbladder had to be removed and they detected cancer somewhere in my system it took 4 ercps to locate it. I have had close to 72 chemotherapy sessions, it has not progressed and it is not respectable due to the fact that it is connected to my artery. I changed my eating habits to be more plant based and vegetarian and holistic teas and supplements I will be 73 this month, I am semi retired but I work as a CNA for a healthcare agency part time. I am thankful and grateful that my Faith In God has brought me this far. I am very active through this enjoying my 5 great grands, and the rest of our large family. I garden, active in my church, go out with my high school and college girlfriends enjoying the life that I now live. Cancer is not in my blood line, I attribute it to covid and my immune system being low.
