How do you choose bladder cancer treatment after tumor removal?

I'm learning about what can come after a bladder tumor is removed. I've read that BCG immunotherapy and chemotherapy are both placed in the bladder through a catheter to help lower the chance of the tumor coming back. Other paths include surveillance, which means regular cystoscopy checks, and cystectomy, which is bladder removal surgery. Clinical trials may also be an option. I haven't had BCG. I'd love to hear from others who have been through something similar. - How did you and your care team decide which path to take after your tumor was removed? - What was day to day life like during treatment or surveillance?

Choosing a path after bladder tumor removal is often a shared process, and many people find it helps to talk with their urologist or oncologist about how each option fits their own diagnosis, test results, and daily life. Questions about what to expect from bladder cancer treatment, surveillance, and clinical trials are great ones to bring to appointments. Others in this Bladder Cancer community may share how they weighed their choices and what everyday life looked like, so check back for their stories and consider adding any questions you want to explore further.
